Veil before the Holy of Holies
Heb 9:3 ....Second veil, a tabernacle, which is called Holy of Holies..
Hebrew 9:7 In the old testament period, the high priest enters the Holy of Holies once a year and not without a sacrifice. The sacrifice is two fold: one for himself and second for the sins of ignorance of the people. (Heb 9:11)Now Christ, having come as a High Priest had made a new tabernacle which is -(1) not made by hands, (2) not of this creation. This new tabernacle which is greater and more perfect whose High Priest is our Lord Jesus Christ who has once and for all entered in with the shedding of His own blood.
Now the Lord's blood means that He has fulfilled the righteous requirements of justifying sinners to Himself. For this the Lord on our behalf was broken on the cross that we may partake the eternal life. Now for us, a rightful way is opened which is by the blood of Christ and not by our deeds.
Justified by faith, we are now rightful heirs because the Lord made us purchase the heavenly ticket by the price He paid for us. This is grace. Grace is something which we received freely from the Lord. Grace is the enjoyment of the Lord by us. Grace is empowerment of the Lord. We can discuss this great topic 'grace' sometime later.
Blood of Christ (Hebrew 9:14)
{The Holy Bible recovery version footnotes}
The blood (Heb 9:12)of Christ was shed for the forgiveness of sins (Matt. 26:28), and the new covenant was consummated with it (Heb 10:29; Luke 22:20). It accomplished an eternal redemption for us (Heb 9:12; Eph. 1:7; 1 Pet. 1:18-19) and purchased the church for God (Acts 20:28). It washes us from our sins (1 John 1:7), purifies our conscience (Heb 9:14), sanctifies us (Heb 13:12), and speaks something better for us (12:24). By this blood we enter the Holy of Holies (Heb 10:19) and overcome Satan the accuser (Rev. 12:10-11). Therefore, it is precious and better than the blood of goats and bulls (Heb 9:12-13). We must value it highly and should not regard it a common thing, like animal blood. If we do, we will suffer God's punishment (Heb 10:29-31)
By this blood- of the sinless Lamb we enter the Holy of Holies (Heb 10:19)
By this blood- we overcome Satan (Rev 12:10-11)
What a fantastic hope!! Hallelujah, the Bible is the truth, It is steadfast. Its truth is flowing as ever new for thousands of years now. By the blood of the Lamb, Lord Jesus; the life and death of Christ, our judgment is transferred upon Him. Since we are now without blemish and justified we will overcome Satan. Amen.
By the blood of Christ alone we can enter the presence of the LIVING GOD (Heb 3:12, Heb 10:31, Heb 12:22, Heb 9:14, Acts 14:15, 1Tim 3:15). The veil that separated us from the living God was our sins and now this sin is dealt with by the breaking of Christ human as a sacrificial lamb and hence now the veil in a sense is the flesh of our Lord Jesus which is rent so that we may enter the Holy of Holies boldly (Heb 10:20)
Let us see two portion which will further enlighten us about the unveiling job which the Lord had accomplished once and for all.
Mat 27:50-53
Our dear Lord relentlessly crushed the serpent's head on the cross once and for all. As He yielded His Spirit, the veil of the temple was rent from top to bottom. This signifies that the veil is not torn by human hands or efforts. It is the divine will of the Father that the righteous requirement for redemption is fulfilled and now everyone who believes can boldly enter the Holy of Holies in Christ. What similarity when we read Heb 9: 11-14, Hallelujah, when Christ died on the cross, He formed a new tabernacle whose veil was rent from top to bottom by the Father. This tabernacle is greater and perfect which is the body of Christ, the church, the new dwelling place of the Living God. amen.
Gen 3:21
In this verse we have two significant words: 'skins' and 'clothed'
{The Holy Bible recovery version footnotes}
Skins: God’s clothing Adam and his wife with the coats of skins means that God justified them through their faith (Rom. 3:28). The coats are a type of Christ as God’s righteousness to cover us that we might be justified by God (Jer. 23:6; 1 Cor. 1:30). They were made by God and replaced the coverings of fig leaves sewn by Adam
{The Holy Bible recovery version footnotes}
clothed: Genuine substitution is based on union. After being clothed by God with a coat of lamb skins, Adam became one with the lamb. Thus, the sinner became one with the substitute. This is union. Union brings in the effectiveness of substitution. When we believe in the gospel, Christ is put upon us as our covering righteousness (cf. Luke 15:22), and we are put into Christ (1 Cor. 1:30), making us one with Christ. Since we are one with Christ, whatever He has accomplished on the cross becomes ours. To believe in Jesus Christ is to be one with Him, to enter into a union with Him (see note 162 in John 3). In such a union, whatever Christ is, whatever He has, whatever He has done and will do, and whatever He has attained and obtained are ours.
2 Cor 3:13-18
In this portion of the Holy Scripture, there is a veil which is in our heart. The Lord had once and for all unveiled the eternal riches and Holiness for us which is the big veil, His flesh. Now there is another veil mentioned here. The thoughts of the religious people are hardened that the same veil at the reading of the old covenant. This veil is done away with in Christ. Christ our Lord can alone take this veil away which has covered every one's heart (inward parts) alike. The solution to this problem that is the veil which is preventing us to enjoy complete freedom is also given in the subsequent verse ( 2 Cor 3:16). If we turn to the Lord, then this veil is taken away and you can see God the Spirit. God is everywhere, so the turning means aligning our focus, worship and love towards the Lord. We have to keep looking at Him, wearing Him as our robe of righteousness (Jer. 23:6; 1 Cor. 1:30). The next verse which gives me joy abundant whenever i read it is, 'The Lord is a Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.' 2 Cor 3:17. We need to be unveiled by continuously turning to the Lord. Then we will become a mirror reflecting His glory and will be transformed into the same Image as He from glory to glory. amen Hallelujah!!!
The veil is rent and the work of Lord is complete and perfect. If any one tries to put more veils in front of a new believer or seeker, he will be answering to the Lord some day. Today's traditions, rituals and prayer methods are new veils which is preventing us from the Lord. Every day new veils find their way in front of our eyes, subtly and gently. The solution to escape such religious hypocrites, religious people is to turn to the Lord always, He will unveil you continuously and nothing will affect you. May God take you from glory to glory. Amen
